In a swift administrative move, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, has suspended Hon. Barrister Otonye Briggs from his position as Chairman of the Akuku-Toru Local Government Caretaker Committee (CTC). The suspension takes immediate effect, marking a significant shift in the leadership of the council.
Governor Fubara has appointed Hon. Bitebobo Nelson Amieye as the new CTC Chairman, entrusting him with the responsibilities of overseeing the affairs of the local government. The Governor also directed Hon. Briggs to hand over all council properties in his possession to his successor to ensure a smooth transition.
