The Akpor Unity Forum, a coalition of leaders and stakeholders from the Akpor Kingdom, held its inaugural meeting yesterday under the leadership of Chief Sa Hanny Woko Esq. The gathering confirmed 12 executive officers, marking a significant step in their mission to back the Simplified Movement and fully support the Rivers State Government, led by His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, and the Obio/Akpor administration under Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo. Notably, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara was declared the Grand Patron of the forum.
The Akpor Unity Forum aims to engage actively in political processes, especially ahead of the Local Government Area elections, to consolidate the Governor’s support in Obio/Akpor.
The executive officers, representing Wards 15, 16, and 17 of Akpor Kingdom, are:
- President General: Hon. Chikordi Dike
- Vice President: Dr. Ndanye Abubakar Akani
- Secretary: Mr. Darlington Wagbara
- Publicity Secretary: Hon. Uche Emmanuel Woke
- Legal Adviser: Barr. George Ariba
- Financial Secretary: Mr. Ibe Nwonfu
- Treasurer: Comr. Innocent Nwanne
- Assistant Secretary: Mr. Lawrence Chukwu
- Provost 1: Mr. Achinike Chukwu
- Provost 2: Mr. Anya Amadi
- Organizing Secretary: Mr. Collins Amadi
- Welfare Secretary: Mr. Edwin Ajokwu
Chief Sa Hanny Woko was also adopted as Patron of the Akpor Kingdom.
During the meeting, President General Hon. Chikordi Dike highlighted the forum’s commitment to strengthening unity in the Akpor Kingdom and supporting the government’s developmental initiatives in Rivers State. He called on members and elder statesmen aligned with the Simplified Movement to lend their full support to the forum’s objectives.
