The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee (CTC) for Asari-Toru Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Orolosama Peter Amachree, has credited the rise of Sir Siminalayi Fubara as Governor of Rivers State to divine intervention. During a courtesy visit by the Ido Community Council of Chiefs, Amachree emphasized that Governor Fubara’s leadership was ordained to uplift the Kalabari people from long-standing under development.
Amachree highlighted key initiatives under Governor Fubara’s administration, notably the historic award of the Trans-Kalabari road project valued at N225 billion, the first of its kind in Rivers State. He lauded the Governor’s efforts in driving major infrastructural projects that have directly benefitted the Kalabari people, such as the completion of the Emohua-Kalabari road and the approval of the Buguma-Degema-Abonnema Road reconstruction.
In his address, Amachree expressed disappointment towards the defected former State Assembly members representing Kalabari constituencies, criticizing their alignment with perceived adversaries of the state government. He reinforced the importance of unwavering support for Governor Fubara, urging the Kalabari people to fully back the administration’s efforts.
The CTC Chairman assured the Ido Chiefs that his administration is committed to the well-being of the community. As a demonstration of this, he announced the approval of three public conveniences to enhance the quality of life for the people.
The Ido Council of Chiefs, represented by their spokesman Chief Igbigioyibo Emmanuel, expressed gratitude for Governor Fubara’s leadership and for the appointment of Amachree. Emmanuel praised Amachree’s empowerment initiatives and the rehabilitation of essential infrastructure that has improved grassroots living conditions.
