Fubara Attributes Strength to God and Church Support

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, reaffirmed the unbroken synergy between his administration and the church. He emphasized that God remains his greatest source of strength, wisdom, and direction. Furthermore, he highlighted the church’s critical role in supporting his commitment to good governance for all residents.

Speaking during the 7th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service of the Government House Chapel, Governor Fubara, represented by Mr. Augustine Ndudi Chukwuma, expressed gratitude to God and the church for their unwavering support.

Acknowledging the Power of Prayer and God’s Guidance

Governor Fubara recognized faith’s crucial role in sustaining his administration. He said, “Without God, celebrating hope within this administration would have been nearly impossible.” Additionally, he thanked the church for their constant prayers and guidance, which have contributed significantly to the state’s peace-building efforts.

Fubara also stressed the mutual dependency between the government and the church. He emphasized that both parties need each other to succeed. To further support this relationship, the Governor announced a donation of N10 million for the chapel’s activities.

Sermon by Pastor Barasin: ‘On Eagles’ Wings’

Pastor Ogan Barasin delivered a sermon titled “On Eagles’ Wings,” drawing from Exodus 19:1-6 and Psalms 36:7-10. He reminded the congregation that God continues to save souls and protect those who trust Him.

Barasin highlighted Jesus Christ’s enduring sacrifice, urging obedience to God’s commandments. He explained that trusting in the covenant of salvation through Jesus ensures God’s protection in times of trouble.

Church’s Support for Governor Fubara and Rivers State

Pastor Barasin commended the Governor for his contributions to the State. He emphasized the church’s continued prayers for the success of his administration. He also acknowledged Fubara’s promotion of civil servants across multiple grades, describing it as unprecedented.

Barasin reassured Fubara of the church’s spiritual support. He confidently stated that God would protect Fubara and the state, with prayers continuing daily from the chapel’s altar.

Award Presentation and Anniversary Celebrations

Elder Statesman Amaopusenibo Sam Sam Jaja presented the “Man of Peace” award to Governor Fubara, which was received by Mr. Chukwuma. Additionally, the event featured the cutting of the 7th Anniversary Celebration Cake, coordinated by Pastor Eferebo Joseph. Mr. Chukwuma and Pastor Ben Goodlife also presented awards to retired and serving Government House staff for their dedicated service.

Special Guests and Prayers for Rivers State

Notable guests included Prof. Okogbule Nlerum, Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, along with other Government House Directors. Special prayers were offered for Governor Fubara and the government, reaffirming support for his efforts to ensure peace and progress in Rivers State.
