Kula Kingdom in Akuku-Toru LGA has expressed condolences to the people of Abuloma Kingdom, Port Harcourt. The commiseration followed the violent deaths during the recent IJaw Youth Council (IYC) Eastern Zone election.
HRH King Sir (Dr.) Kroma Amabibi Eleki, Amanyanabo of Kula Kingdom, led the condolence visit. He was accompanied by Chief (Barr.) Wapakabuari Ebejiye-Gaga and members of the Kula Council of Chiefs.
The Kula Monarch expressed shared grief over the tragic loss of lives in the Abuloma community. While celebrating the victory of their son, Prince Datolu Sukubo, as IYC Chairman, he condemned the violence.
The peaceful election process was marred by miscreants, leading to tragic deaths, he added. In response, HRH Brig. Gen. King Bright Ateke Fiboinumama (rtd), King of Abuloma Kingdom, expressed gratitude.
He acknowledged Kula Kingdom’s solidarity but regretted the senseless killings caused by rival cult groups. The King lamented that hosting the election, meant to show hospitality, ended in bloodshed.
