Governor Inspects Legacy Projects, Reaffirms Commitment To Credible Local Government Elections

Today, the Governor of Rivers State conducted an inspection of several key projects, including the ongoing Trans-Kalabari road construction at the Rumuolumeni axis of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area (LGA). In a statement released on his Facebook page, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project but urged the contractor to expedite the pace of work.

“We are determined to deliver the completed project within our tenure,” the Governor emphasized, highlighting the significance of the Trans-Kalabari road as one of his administration’s legacy projects.

During the visit, the Governor also addressed concerns surrounding the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State. He reassured the public of his administration’s commitment to conducting one of the most credible, free, and fair elections in the history of Rivers State.

In furtherance of this pledge, the Governor paid an unscheduled visit to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) Headquarters, where he met with electoral officials. He commended their efforts and promised the administration’s continued support to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.

The Governor’s day concluded with a solidarity visit from the Director General, Soboma Jackrich, and members of the SIMplicity Movement at the Government House. During the meeting, the Governor encouraged the group to remain peaceful and dedicated to promoting good governance. He also urged citizens to participate peacefully in the upcoming Local Government elections on October 5, calling for a strong voter turnout to secure the future of the State.

The Governor’s engagements today underscore his administration’s focus on both infrastructural development and the promotion of credible democratic processes in Rivers State.
